Why are you passionate about aviation?

As I navigated through my school years, I found myself drawn to a unique path that set me apart from my peers. While others spoke of ambitions in medicine, engineering, business, and law, my heart was set on a different trajectory—aviation. From a young age, I harbored a profound passion for the skies, aspiring to soar as an airline pilot.

I am passionate about aviation because it has been a lifelong fascination that started with a special flight when my family and I moved to America. That first flight, on October 2nd, 2016, was a momentous occasion for me. I remember feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as I entered the airport for the first time, passed through security, and boarded the plane. The experience of seeing those massive planes up close, which I had only seen on TV and in photos, was awe-inspiring.

As the plane accelerated and lifted smoothly into the air, I was filled with a sense of wonder and motivation to learn more about planes. It was during this flight that I saw the pilot and the cockpit for the first time, sparking curiosity about what it would be like to be in control of such an incredible machine. My passion for aviation extends beyond the thrill of flying. I see it as a profession that offers unparalleled opportunities to explore the world and experience different cultures. Being a pilot means not only flying but also having the ability to see various countries and expand my perspective in ways that few other careers can offer.

Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT and how did you hear about the Program?

I feel that Tuskegee NEXT is the perfect opportunity to jump-start my career as a professional pilot. I chose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT after learning about the program at an aviation event called AMAC Foundation by Project LIFT, held at Chicago Midway Airport. It was there that I had the opportunity to meet an alumni of Tuskegee NEXT who shared their experiences and spoke highly of the program. Hearing about the opportunities and support that Tuskegee NEXT offers, along with the admiration expressed by the alumni, inspired me to pursue the same path. The program's commitment to providing training and mentorship to aspiring aviators from diverse backgrounds resonated deeply with me, and I knew it was the right fit for my aspirations in the aviation industry.

What are your future aviation aspirations?

My ultimate goal is to become an Airline pilot and carry forward the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen as an inspiration for others. I'm also passionate about giving back to my community by creating opportunities in aviation for underrepresented youth.

Fun Fact:

In addition to my love for flying and sports, I'm also a big fan of spending quality time with family and friends, whether it's sharing stories, playing games, or simply enjoying each other's company.
