Why are you passionate about aviation?

I am passionate about aviation because I have been surrounded by aviation enthusiasts since I was a toddler. Both of my parents are flight attendants for Delta Airlines, which provided me the privilege to accompany them on numerous domestic and international journeys. I remember them coming home after long trips and bringing me back food or items from different countries, allowing me to expand my curiosity about how other cultures live. Growing up with this promoted my love for traveling and submerging myself in different environments. This led to my decision to become a pilot, intrigued by the freedom to navigate the skies and witness the world from a unique perspective in the cockpit.

Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT and how did you hear about the program?

I chose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT because I would be granted the ability to be a part of a legacy of greatness, enabling myself to be in the image of the Tuskegee Airmen as a dedicated, determined, and resilient individual. Earning my Private Pilot certification over the summer would also help me tremendously in my career pathway of becoming a commercial pilot for Delta Airlines. I would also be able to enjoy the entire summer surrounded by like-minded aviators, granting me the ability to engage in professional collaborations and exchanges of knowledge. I heard about the program through various OBAP members within my university.

What are your future aviation aspirations?

While attending Middle Georgia State University, I plan to earn my bachelor’s in Aviation Science and Management. I will become a certified flight instructor after graduation from my university and I later plan on becoming a commercial pilot for Delta Airlines.
