“As the first aspiring aviator in my family, Tuskegee NEXT provides answers to many of the questions I've had and offers a path toward reaching the skies.”
About Me:
My name is Hannah Parks. I attend Middle Georgia State University and this fall I will be a sophomore. Some of my interests are aviation, rom coms, all things Marvel and my newest interest Formula 1. A few of my hobbies include traveling, learning, eating and building legos. I am a member of the Organization of Black aerospace professionals, Professional Asian Pilot Association, Women in Aviation Heart of Georgia Chapter and Student Government Association.
Why are you passionate about aviation?
I am passionate about aviation because, to me, it represents the ultimate dream. Aviation is more than just a field, it's an entirely different world, one that evokes surreal feelings every time I'm in its presence. I still remember my first time on a plane it was an experience like no other. The anticipation of takeoff filled me with excitement, and when it finally happened, it surpassed anything I had imagined. As the engines roared and the airplane started to accelerate then took off and I was pushed back into my seat, a sense of wonder washed over me. The moment we lifted off, everything became still and silent, and I realized I was flying! That feeling of weightlessness, of freedom, of being above the clouds is indescribably beautiful. It's in those moments that I knew aviation wasn't just a fascination, it was something that I was going to pursue.
Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT and how did you hear about the program?
I chose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT because I heard about it from a former cadet. This cadet spoke highly of the experience, particularly the supportive community that fosters growth, connection, and success. That sense of purpose and belonging is exactly what I’m looking for as I take flight on this journey. As the first aspiring aviator in my family, Tuskegee NEXT provides answers to many of the questions I've had and offers a path toward reaching the skies. I’m inspired by the opportunity to carry on the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen and honored to follow in the footsteps of such trailblazers.
What are your future aviation aspirations?
After graduating from Middle Georgia State University with my degree in Aviation science and management, I plan to start my professional pilot career with Endeavour Air then going to Delta airlines. Gaining experience at a major passenger carrier will provide me with the skills, professionalism, and flight hours necessary to advance in the aviation industry. My long-term goal is to transition to UPS Airlines.
Fun Fact:
I love music. A few of my favorite artists are Brent Faiyaz, Rema, Sade, Tems and Lauryn Hill.
