About Me:
I am Mariah Adams, a swimming instructor with a passion for teaching and helping others feel confident in the water. In my free time, I love doing hair, designing, and expressing myself creatively through crafts. I’m driven by my dreams of traveling the world, gaining new skills, and building a successful, fulfilling life.

Why are you passionate about aviation?
My passion for aviation stems from its profound ability to connect diverse cultures and people across the globe. Through flight, individuals are not only given the opportunity to explore new destinations but also enjoy opportunities while experiencing a unique sense of freedom. The aviation industry is rapidly advancing, driven by continuous innovation and mechanical development making it an exhilarating field to be a part of, hence my passion for aviation.

Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT and how did you hear about the program?
I am applying to Tuskegee NEXT because I resonate with its mission to honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen by empowering underrepresented youth through aviation education and career opportunities. Their resilience and excellence inspired me to pursue a path in aviation. I learned about this program through a recommendation from a former alumni, and I am eager to contribute and grow within this impactful community.

What are your future aviation aspirations?
I am currently pursuing my Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, aiming to work with aircraft maintenance and operations. My ultimate goal is to become a cargo pilot, having first gained experience as an airline pilot. Above all else I am deeply committed to giving back by teaching flight to individuals from less fortunate communities and backgrounds who share a similar passion for aviation as I do.

Fun Fact:
A fun fact is that my favorite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, which I’ve probably read a hundred times.
