About Me:
I am currently a junior majoring in computer science. As a first-generation college student, I take pride in breaking barriers and carving my own path in this dynamic and ever-evolving field. I am deeply passionate about travel, the transformative power of technology, and aviation. Travel has profoundly shaped who I am. Through Georgia State University’s Study Abroad Program, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to experience life in Indonesia and Greece. These experiences have not only broadened my horizons but also deepened my appreciation for the richness of diverse perspectives. Each journey has taught me invaluable lessons beyond the classroom and fueled my eagerness to continue exploring and learning from the world. My journey in STEM is fueled by a desire to innovate and make a meaningful impact. I aspire to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and aviation, focusing on enhancing flights safety and driving innovation within the industry. Equally important to me is advocating for diversity and inclusion both within STEM fields and the aviation community.
Why are you passionate about aviation?
I'm passionate about aviation because it represents the perfect blend of innovation, precision, and exploration. It embodies human ingenuity and our ability to overcome challenges once thought impossible. On a deeper level, my passion is influenced by where I come from, Bangladesh, a country where women in aviation can be counted on one hand. That reality fuels my drive even more. It motivates me to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and become part of a growing community that is redefining what is possible in the skies.
Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT and how did you hear about the program?
I chose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT because its mission closely aligns with my aspirations and values. I am inspired by the program’s commitment to increasing diversity in aviation through comprehensive flight training, education, and mentorship. Being part of a program connected to the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen holds great significance for me. Their story embodies resilience, excellence, and the determination to break barriers. These are qualities I am eager to embody in my own journey. I first learned about Tuskegee NEXT from a former cadet who shared how transformative the experience was for them. That conversation sparked my curiosity and strengthened my desire to join the community.
What are your future aviation aspirations?
My goal is to become a certified pilot and contribute to the aviation industry both in the cockpit and through technology. With my background in computer science, I’m excited to contribute to the future of aviation through automation, data systems, and emerging technologies. I hope to combine my technical knowledge with flight expertise to support innovation and safety in the skies. I also want to mentor others and help make aviation more inclusive for underrepresented communities. My aspiration is to help build an industry that is not only advanced but also equitable and accessible.
Fun Fact:
I enjoy working out, spending time with my friends, and reading. My current favorite book is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
