“I chose to apply to the Tuskegee Next program because the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen inspires me daily. They broke barriers and rose to the challenge in the face of adversity, and that kind of courage motivates me to keep pushing toward my goals in aviation.”
About Me:
Hi, my name is Braden, and I’m passionate about aviation. In my free time I enjoy trying new foods and exploring luxury and performance vehicles. I'm currently working towards becoming a commercial pilot and inspiring others through flight instruction. What motivates me most is the thrill of learning something new and connecting with people through shared experiences.
Why are you passionate about aviation?
The main reason I’m so passionate about aviation is because it brings people together in ways that few other fields can. Whether it’s connecting families across the world or working alongside people who share the same sense of purpose. I enjoy how every day offers something new to learn, from flight techniques to weather patterns, the field has a variety of ways to further my knowledge. It’s not just about flying, it’s about being a part of something bigger that challenges me, while still pushing me to grow.
Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT and how did you hear about the program?
I chose to apply to the Tuskegee Next program because the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen inspires me daily. They broke barriers and rose to the challenge in the face of adversity, and that kind of courage motivates me to keep pushing toward my goals in aviation. I heard about the program through my like-minded peers in the OBAP organization who share the same passion for flying and uplifting our community. This opportunity continues what the Airmen began, opening doors, pushing limits, and flying with purpose. Now I am proud to say I'm ready to carry that legacy forward as I pursue my path in aviation.
What are your future aviation aspirations?
My aviation aspirations include working towards becoming a certified flight instructor before eventually becoming a pilot at a commercial airline. Instructing will give me the chance to grow as a pilot while helping others, see the possibilities that aviation offers. As I continue advancing, I plan to take on greater responsibilities and develop the leadership skills needed to fill the role of a captain.
Fun Fact:
When I’m not around airplanes, I’m drawn to the ocean or anywhere near water. Swimming in open water has always felt like the closest thing to flying without leaving the ground.
